A small studio, on purpose
Codofaz makes Shopify apps. We are deliberately small, we release slowly, and we would rather say no to a feature than put weight on your storefront.
Most storefront apps are heavier than they need to be. They load a script, call a server, wait for an answer, and only then draw something a shopper could have seen instantly. Multiply that by five apps and a store that felt quick starts to drag.
We started Codofaz to build the opposite kind of app. Everything we ship has to earn its place on the page: a hard size budget, no request to our servers while a shopper browses, and no data collected about the people doing the shopping. When a feature cannot be built inside those limits, we look for a different way to build it, or we leave it out.
That discipline is also why we are not in a hurry. One app is live today. The next one arrives when merchants have asked for it enough times that we know it is worth the weight.
Where we are going
Small, sharp tools for the parts of running a store that are more annoying than they should be. The roadmap is written by the people who email us — if something takes you three steps too many, we would like to hear about it.
